Appreciation with a Loaf of Bread Project
Karen & Jim
2020 was a strange and difficult year.
Having received your bread on New Year’s Eve, it was the perfect time to intentionally reflect on the year past, and express our hopes for the new year.
Jim and I discussed being thankful for our family and friends, for all of our health, and for our pets who kept us company and entertained us in 2020.
Spurred to deeper conversation by your kind invitation and gift of bread, we spoke of gratitude for this opportunity, the privilege of time, home, health, friendship, location, stability, and family that allowed for such an enjoyable evening. And that all of those things allow for much of the joy in our lives, and that all of those things are not afforded to all people.
And that continuing to speak our gratitude aloud is a good idea, and a way of reminding ourselves more concretely of how grateful we are for everyone and everything in our lives.
