Appreciation with a Loaf of Bread Project

What a delight to receive this appreciation bread and think about all that I am grateful for. Freshly baked bread seemed to call for some hearty soup, so I cooked a pot of my mother's vegetable soup brimming with carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, potatoes, diced tomatoes, and warm chicken broth. The smells of the soup filled my kitchen with memories of my parents, and siblings and growing up in Northern Utah where it snows in the winter. I live alone in Phoenix (pursuing my Ph. D.), so it was nice to be surrounded by mouth-watering smells and fond memories of those I love while I ate the delicious bread and soup.
