Appreciation with a loaf of Bread

Let’s talk about things that you are grateful for

while eating this edible form of ‘thank you’

It all started with the pandemic.

I never baked before - growing up in South Korea, I don’t remember any of my childhood houses had an oven. So, for me, a bread is something that you buy from a bakery. I had no problem with that life style until this year. As COVID-19 hits AZ, it also impacted grocery stores. I could not find the bread I like. All available ones tasted like construction material sponge.

Thanks to Marlys’ sourdough starter donation, I started baking breads in July 2020 in the midst of pandemic. With countless Youtube tutorial video watching and some success and some unsatisfying results, I finally figured out the perfect ratio and time to make a beautiful loaf of bread in October.

I decided to share this joy with 34 people that I'd like to give thanks to (why 34? Because I turned 34 years old this year). I deliver a loaf of bread with a small thank you note attached, and they eat the bread. They were asked to talk about things that they are thankful for.

And here you can find the stories of

love, hope, family, gratefulness, resilience, and delicious food.

Then, I realized 34 is way too small number

for the people that I want to give thanks to - so I kept going.
